Who we are
BuffIQ is a product of Buff Zebra, built for sports officials, coaches, and parents. Questions: support@buffzebra.com.
What we collect
- Account info — your email address, name, optional phone number, optional profile photo.
- Officiating profile — sports and levels you work, years of experience.
- Content you upload — rulebook PDFs, questions and photos you submit, incident report drafts, and game log entries (date, site, level, pay, mileage, expenses).
- Basic technical data — sign-in events and error logs needed to keep the service running.
We do not collect location, contacts, health data, or advertising identifiers. We do not use tracking for advertising, and we do not sell your data.
How we use it
Your information is used only to operate BuffIQ: authenticating you, storing your library, answering your rule questions, generating briefs and reports, and tracking your game log and tax totals.
AI processing
Questions, photos, and relevant excerpts of your uploaded rulebooks are sent to our AI provider to generate answers, pregame briefs, and report drafts. That content is processed to produce your response and is not used to train public models. Pregame briefs may also include information gathered from public web sources.
Storage and security
Data is stored on managed cloud infrastructure with database-level access rules that scope every record to your account. Uploaded files live in private storage and are only reachable through short-lived links issued to you.
Sharing
We share data only with the service providers that make the app work (cloud hosting, database and storage, authentication, AI processing, and web search), or when required by law. No third party receives your data for their own marketing.
Your choices
- View and edit your profile at any time in Settings.
- Delete an individual rulebook or game entry at any time.
- Delete your account from Settings → Delete account. This permanently removes your profile, uploaded books, game log, and sign-in record. It cannot be undone.
- Request a copy of your data by emailing support@buffzebra.com.
Retention
We keep your data while your account is active. When you delete your account, your content is removed immediately; routine backups age out within 30 days.
Children
BuffIQ is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their information.
Changes
If this policy changes materially we will post the update here and note it in the app.
